Who we are — in plain terms
We're independent, and it shows in small ways. The pharmacist who fills your script is the one who checks it. The advice you get is decided at the counter, not at a head office. And nobody here is paid to sell you something you don't need.
Three branches across Limerick — Ennis Road, Dock Road and Castletroy — run to one standard. Your history lives at branch level, so the person handing you your medication knows your file, not just your face.
None of it is complicated. Advice first, transaction second. Straight answers. A private room when the question needs one. The hard part is doing it consistently — every day, at every counter. That's the job.

to be held to.
Care. Privacy. Respect. Easy to print on a wall — harder to practise at a busy counter on a wet Tuesday. Here’s what each one costs us, and what it gets you.

Care.
Pharmacists who know their patients by name, and take the time a question actually needs. Advice first, transaction second.
In practice, that means remembering what you were prescribed last time, noticing what’s changed, and never rushing the person at the counter to serve the queue behind them. The queue can wait. The question can’t.

Privacy.
Private consultation rooms in every branch. Sensitive questions are answered behind a door, never across a counter.
Half of pharmacy is the question you’d rather not ask out loud. So every branch has a consultation room, and anything sensitive moves behind that door before it’s discussed. What’s said in there stays in there.

Respect.
Straight answers, fair prices, and no upselling. If you don’t need it, we’ll tell you — and tell you what you do need instead.

Regulated — like every pharmacy should be
Every Scanlons branch operates under Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI) regulation, with a named supervising pharmacist accountable for its standards.
That’s true of every pharmacy in Ireland — as it should be. You can look any of ours up on the PSI register.
